Keith Lacey Apr 16, 12:28AM Probably a stupid question but I assume I'm registered for this league since I did the Winter League? I paid the 10 Euro.
Also, is it 7 Euro as normal per race?
Rene Borg Apr 16, 8:21AM Hi Keith, no stupid questions, only stupid answers...

When you register during any of IMRA's leagues, you get a the membership for the year, so yes, you're registered for the Leinster League and only need to pay the 7 euro standard fee.
N Fox Apr 21, 5:34PM I'm new to the IMRA and was wondering for the Bray Head run this Wed. would my ordinary road runners do; or do I need more suitable mountain runners?
Rene Borg Apr 21, 8:32PM We were checking the route just yesterday and even in dry conditions, there's a good few very steep bits of rock and dusty earth. Neither provide very much grip, so while the road runners will serve you alright in most of the race, I recommend getting something with slightly more grip or you could find yourself having problems on the difficult bits.

You wouldn't need to go find an ultra-specialised fell running shoe, Salomon's, the PUMA Trailfox, or many of the less extreme Inov-8s would be fine for this race.

www.shoe-guide.co.uk is an invaluable ressource on such shoes, you'd be able to get the majority at Amphibian King, and Great Outdoors, online shops not being an option with the short notice.
Gavin Lloyd Apr 21, 9:59PM Just wanting to know the where the start line is for the race. Thanks.
Stuart Scott Apr 21, 11:13PM Well if its your first race, and if you're not planning on running too competitively, you'd be better off waiting until after the race before buying specialised shoes. That way you'll see what other people are wearing and your membership will also give you a 10pc discount in Great Outdoors.
cormac o ceallaigh Apr 22, 8:43AM essential to remember to bring your swiming gear for after the race, straight into the sea is the best tonic for sore muscles! i highly recommend a swim after the race.
Paul O'Grady Apr 22, 1:20PM What time is registration open and what time does it close?

Thanks

Paul
Rene Borg Apr 22, 1:40PM Gavin: start line is just behind the first barricade at the start of the climb (you basically start at the foot of the climb). Finish is further down the strand, so don't let this surprise you coming back!

Paul: Not sure of the exact start time for registration, but usually closes about 15 minutes before race start.

Tim Grummell Apr 22, 2:04PM I emailed Rachel about volunteering for bray a week or so ago, but my name isnt on the list. I'll be down at 6.30 to help out anyway.
Tim Grummell Apr 22, 9:09PM Hmmm, No wounder my name wasn't on the list seening as I couldn't even sent the email to the right address, sorry about that!
Rene Borg Apr 24, 1:49PM Hi all, well done on your races yesterday, it was great to see people come racing down the path as we went up to collet the markers, and also the close finishing battle between Paul and Barry.

Please note that the race results are currently provisional as we go through all the registration sheets received on the day still, and a few people may be missing at of this writing. You should be added within the next few days.
Sinead Roche Apr 24, 11:20PM Bray Results are now updated.

With regards to the clubs competition, if anyone wishes to change or add their club details, please email me before the weekend at (sinead dot roche at imra dot ie) with your runner number and the club you wish to be entered under so I can ensure it is updated for next week's race. We plan to provide the clubs prizes after each race - so if your club details are not included on the laptop on a given race night, it may be missed for that race night's club prize. So please get your clubs organised if you wish to be include in the clubs competition.
Thanks,
Sinead
