From Dublin take the M50 to Kilmacanogue then head off towards Roundwood and continue straight ahead to Laragh. At the Y-junction follow the right fork (don't turn down towards Lynhams and the Visitor's centre), drive past the white restaurant on the right and the petrol station on the right, then take the road up left and move just past the Brockagh Ressource Centre. There's a small car park here at the entrance to the forest leading up the Brockaghs. Note there's limited parking up this road, so you may want to park in Laragh itself and jog up to the start. It is a bit more of a journey for a lot of people to get there, so please allow enough time.
Please note the following points regarding the race at Brockagh: Registration will close at 19:20 sharp. Start is intended for 19:30, we will delay by a few minutes if need be, but definitely underway at 19:40. Parking is very limited in Laragh village, so please - as ever - make every attempt to car-pool (even from Roundwood would be a big help). There is minimal parking at the start, if full please park considerately in the village. Everyone is politely requested NOT to use Lynhams' car park, at least until after the race. They have a function on earlier in the night; it is simply not fair to clog their car park. Registration will be at the entrance to the forest, the same point as where the finish is. Grid ref T 140 968. Start will be a short distance back down the tarmac as previously. The race is predominantly on exposed open mountain - be prepared to dress accordingly in case of bad weather. If you don't arrive in time for registration, you can run informally with the race; please do this, enjoy it, but don't interfere in the race or try to get yourself a result. Note the event page has two maps - only the upper (OS type) map shows the full course, all the way to the summit of Brockagh mountain, 557 m, and back.

of Brockagh.Would need to be in Laragh 6.15/6.30 at latest.

John MacEnri Jun 23, 4:46PM Vivian,

I could do summit for you. Only thing is, how early do you need me up there.
I will be in Laragh by about 6:45 and can head straight up. Will that be early enough?

John

Mick Hanney Jun 25, 2:31PM Looks suspiciously like the winner's asics :-)

Maybe certain photographers have a liking for taking pictures of feet!
Peter O'Farrell Jun 25, 2:33PM Orla will get the prize so...I believe he was in third place at the time.

I can't upload piccies under her name so I'll happily claim the credit for them, that's a great shot by the way John Mac- such urgency and energy, that foot is thrusting forward to the finish with great vigour :)
John Shiels Jun 25, 2:39PM I Believe this is called "Shoerotica"
Eva Fairmaner Jun 25, 3:18PM Some of the girls were pleased to beat Aisling last night (I wasn't one of them!) and now they know why - she was too busy trying out for the circus!
Sonja Fuhrmann Jun 25, 6:09PM Just a note to say thank you for all the help I got in the race yesterday! It was great having all the support when I needed it badly! Thanks to Michael, Vivian, Garry, Karen, Jackie, Rob and whoever else was there to talk to me, trying to get rid of the midges, carrying me down the mountain eg. Its a good feeling having people like you there! And I'm feeling much better today! Thanks!!!
Peter O'Farrell Jun 26, 3:41PM I see ( don't see? ) the running foot photo has been left this virtual space.

This poor unfortunate photo had a short inglorious existence, it suffered jibes from mp3 cullers and was finally crully cut short by the lack of a sweaty but recognisable number.

I call for freedom for this and other non-runner faces photos!

Idle landscape shots taken before races, interesting path junctions, all these and more are suffering for the lack of celebrating the ego...

it is a great race though and well done to all who competed, a cracking evening for running and congratulations to the uncatchable league champions Caroline and Eoin.
