Car pooling will be needed from Drumgoff onwards.
The Route will be from Barravore car park to the top of Lugnacoille through the Fraughen Rock Glen. The race will start on forest trails before moving on to open mountain.
Kit requirements:
Map of the race area (Harvey's or Healy's recommended) & Compass
Whistle
Light raincoat
Studded runners are strongly advised
This is an uncompromising open mountainside race. Once above the 400m contour you will be in trackless wilderness. This section of the race will not be marked so you will need to familiarise yourself with the route beforehand or have strong navigational abilities.
IMPORTANT Keep the river/stream to your left when climbing and too your right when descending. Failure to do so could lead you onto dangerous cliffs.
The route wont be marked apart from a few track junctions near the start. If the weather is terrible there will be an alternative race in either Carrawaystick or Mullacor forests.

Paul Nolan will race direct this new route called Fraughen Rock Glen and his instructions and a map have already been uploaded to the website. Please familiarise yourself with the details so far if you have plans of running this race on 23rd of August. |

| Bruce Shenker | Jul 8, 12:00PM | Terrific route, when I was new to Ireland I tried to walk up Lug that way and the mist came down and I had no clue where the summit was and I thought the sheep were laughing at me, so I am still amazed that I was smart enough to back off and do it several weeks later on a clear day. Lots of rock scrambling and rough terrain and even the bottom is a bit tricky but perhaps you know of some tracks I never found. I am very jealous of this one. |

| Paul Nolan | Aug 21, 7:22PM | Myself and Izzy spent a bit of time 'gardening' the early stages of the route earlier today. The underfoot is quite wet so bring good grip. The forecast is quite depressing for Sunday... Rain & Strong winds, not the ideal combination for the route. So bring a pair of trail shoes as well, in case we have to make a decision on the day of running a race up and down Table Track instead. Hopefully it won't come to that! Munchies have been booked for after the race in Drumgoff. |
