| Chris O'Neill | Apr 16, 1:11PM | I think the date had a bearing on turnout. Connermarra marathon and 1/2 the previous weekend and an Ultra in Galway the day before may have effected runners particiption. I know i will be there next time if my training/race schedule allows. |
| Jeremy Hart | Apr 2, 9:03PM | lovely weather on the day, great views, a good challenge, well marked, could do with a few more runners next time out (I do not normally end up that far up the board!) think Debra are interested in feedback on what would encourage more people to take part on an annual basis Results http://www.debraireland.org/pdf/results%202.pdf |
| Jeremy Hart | Mar 20, 1:58PM | Thanks for that Niamh |
| niamh o ceallaigh | Mar 20, 11:01AM | Hi Jeremy. The route is along the WW from Crone to Glendalough. Part 1: Crone to Pier Gates- Starts on gravel forest tracks, turns to firm clay track to grassy track. As you skirt around Djouce, it will be single track which will be muddy in parts and a bit stony. Then a lovely boardwalk down to the road. Part 2: Pier Gates to Oldbridge- Couple of hundred metres up the road then along gravel forest tracks. A short section through a couple of fields brings you out onto the road to oldbridge. Part 3: Oldbridge to Glendalough- Up the road a couple of km. Turn onto a farm lane, then a mixture of clay / grassy trails and a small section on forest trails. This section should be mainly dry underfoot. All in all nothing too boggy, and a good mix. If I was running it, I would probably wear road runners or if a wet day maybe trail runners. Enjoy it!! |
