| Ray Linn | Feb 24, 1:33PM | The 41st running of the Dunboyne AC 4 Mile Road Race will take place on Sunday 28th March 2010. Due to the construction of the new N3 road network and Dunboyne rail line, a brand new 4 mile course has been selected for this year. It is a flat fast course which passes through Dunboyne village centre on 3 occasions, and this will make it a fabulous spectator event. The senior race starts at 3:00pm, and a juvenile race program starts at 2:00pm. Entrants can register on race day at Dunboyne Community Center from 12:30pm onwards for an entry fee of €15, or registrations can be completed on-line prior to the race for a fee of €13 at www.dunboyneac.com. Entry forms can also be download from this site and sent with the entry fee of €12 to the Race Director; Liam Murtagh, 167 Beechdale, Dunboyne, Co. Meath. - Phone 01 825 1614. Dunboyne AC are delighted to be teaming up with Special Olympics Ireland as the nominated charity for this years event. Join in the fun and help to raise funds for Special Olympics Ireland. For sponsorship cards contact Gearoid.Mitchell@specialolympics.ie Last years Men's race was won by Mark Christie from Mullingar Harriers in a time of 18:56, and last years Ladies race was won by Hazel Murphy from Dundrum South Dublin in a time of 21:24. As it is a flat 4 mile course, it is ideal for entrants of all physical fitness levels to run, jog or walk the event. Light refreshments & Prize giving ceremony takes place in Dunboyne Community Center immediately after the race. |
