Nav Challenge 2 - hereby re-named Jackson's Folly will start at Trooperstown Carpark (T 159 969) @ 12 noon on Sunday 26th August with registration open from 11.15am.

This year we will revert to the old format whereby each runner must bring their own map (Harveys is the one to use) and will be given a list of co-ordinates so that they can plot the points/controls on the map. These will be given out at 12 noon sharp.

Minimum kit requirements:

  • Map and compass
  • Whistle
  • Food and drink
  • Mobile phone with IMRA Emergency Number entered (087 261 7599)
  • Windproof top
  • Extra clothing (optional)
  • Suncream (optional)
Note, with the exception of the last 2 items, the mandatory kit must be carried at all times - you could be out for anything from 2-5 hours and you must be self sufficient.

Volunteers (Non-Running)

You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
