Barry MinnockSep 6 2015, 8:55pmIs anyone travelling on the ferry over? Looking to share a lift on the ferry if possible. Don't have travel booked at this point. Have a hold on room in village, but will let it go if I can't find reasonable flights/ferry.
Gerry BradySep 11 2015, 8:07pmGood luck to all the runners in the World Masters on Saturday. Runners from IMRA and NIMRA have combined to have teams entered in all five age groups from men 35-39 to men 55-59. Athletes such as Zoe Melling (W45), Robert and Stephen Cleary and David McNeilly (all M35), Alex Brennan and Barry Minnock (both M40), Tom Blackburn and Bernard Fortune (both M45), Mike Cunningham and Shane Green (both M50), and Gerard Maloney and Martin McDonald (both M55) will all be hoping for high-place finishes.

McNeilly, Minnock, and McDonald are probably our best hopes for medals and the M35s and M55s for team medals. Runners names courtesy of Maire O’Sullivan.

Women 45-49: Zoe Melling, Maire O’Sullivan
Men 35-39: Robert Cleary, Stephen Cleary, John Kelly, Seamus Kelly, David McNeilly
Men 40-44: Alex Brennan, Liam Dunne, Anthony Glover, Barry Minnock
Men 45-49: Thomas Blackburn, Bernard Fortune, Paul Synott
Men 50-54: Mike Cunningham, Shane Green, Michael Gygax, Syl Ivers
Men 55-59: Gerard Griffin, Jorg Lorenz, Gerard Maloney, Martin McDonald
Men 60-64: Sean O’Neill

Gerry BradySep 12 2015, 11:58amProvisional results in race report on IMRA event page. Looks like men 35-39 team won silver medals with Stephen Cleary (11th), Robert Cleary (13th), and David McNeilly (16th) being the three scorers.
Gerry BradySep 12 2015, 1:55pmGold team medals for Ireland in the Men 55-59 age group. Martin McDonald was 2nd, Gerard Maloney 3rd, and Ger Griffin 6th. This is the first time that Ireland has won a World masters team race. It is also the only team race in this year's event that Great Britain have been beaten in.

The Irish men's teams in all other age groups (M35, M40, M45, and M50) all won team medals.
