Well it’s been 4 races missed over the last few weeks holidays Eddie vedder holidays and unfortunately one of our cats spice had to be put down last week:( that’s why it’s always good to get as many races in at the beginning of the season to get your 7 races cause life can be busy so my legs had lost that broom zoom doom also the weather being so good ice creams r a flowing into the old mouth only a pizza today I had to miss so I did ok for a Wednesday the boys on holidays always wanting to know what we r doing next looking forward to them joining me some day on the hills....boom John dodgy shorts bell gets us on r way he had bad experience on this route nearly needing a umbrella so he’s race director nice easy job and he did super job with all his family in tow well done and were lashing up my most favourite bit of fire road in the wicklow mountains we break into to groups Luke John Harry warren ahead Luke robin peter Paul eoin Gordon Brian behind taking an easier pace left continuing on the wicklow way Brian try’s to push by I’m thinking no thanks Brian then eoin sorry no it’s fast up down its a ball buster then onto some bike tracks eoin passes me I’m not feeling the love today maybe the lindor chocolates etc I’m thinking to much about it onto to fire roads ahhhhhhhhh when is it enjoyable in these races:) I’m behind Peter heading into the ferns Pete asks if I want to get by isn’t he so nice I say I’m ok for the moment I wait till the right turn and go by keeping a run going past Paul Mahon I need to bottles of water just in case I get lost on the mountains:)off coarse he’s giving great encouragement it’s hard power walk run up through the heather Petes not far behind valdas passes me eventually able to run nearer the top I’m pretty recked loop around the cairn and it’s blast as quickly to the bottom unfortunately Brockagh it’s steep enough of a descent for me very runnable but I push hard I know Pete’s going to pass me since he’s probably looking for crown on Strava I’m thinking crap that fire road at the end I just don’t want to be passed he goes by I try keep up but he gets away down the nice steeper bit that the hill takes you down passed johns family nice little cheer through the gate some winding fire road boom it’s my favourite bit so it’s head in the game push push push nobody passes me not even Gandalf a little look behind on last corner nobody there phew over line gasping fly attacks Brian not far behind ...thanks again John and crew for great races only two left crazy how fast year goes...
Well done to Luke for the win he made sure he knew where the finish line was then John then Harry who warren had a great ding dong battle to the finish....jakers I’ve finally stopped sweating:)

Also well done to all the juniors great to see you all enjoying the hills:)
