First Aid Training - Part 1

Description:
First Aid Training
County:
Dublin
Date:
Wednesday 13th March, 2019
Time:
18:30
Organisers Instructions:

IMRA will be hosting a First Aid course for its members, running over two evenings on Wednesday 13th and 20th March in the upstairs function room in Lamb Doyles Pub, Sandyford, from c. 18:30 to 22:00. The role as First Aid Officer is vital for IMRA races to go ahead, and to avoid cancellations of races already on the calendar. Why not get your volunteering in while at the same time learning some new, potentially life saving, skills?

For putting your time into this, IMRA will provide you with:
- A recognised first aid course (REC 1) certificate will be provided on completion
- A meal on both evenings
- A core volunteer prize by the end of 2019*

*Subject to volunteering as First Aid Officer twice during 2019. This prize is in addition to any end of league prize that you might also qualify for!

In return, we only ask you to attend both evenings and to:
- Sign up as First Aid Officer for at least one race when you register for the course.

The course will be provided by a qualified first aid instructor, and can host up to 12 participants.

If you would like to take part, please respond to the forum post in the below format, starting from no. 2, i.e. with your name followed by a bracket with the name of the race, for which you would like to volunteer as First Aid Officer. Please also formally register as First Aid Officer on the event tab for your chosen race.

Obviously, you have the option to swap for another race in due course. However, it is important that we start filling up the races early.

You must be able to take part on both evenings, in order to complete the course.

Volunteers (Non-Running)

You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
