| Rachel Cinnsealach | Feb 15 2012, 11:42pm | There will be a talk on Adventure Racing on Thursday 1st March in Basecamp at 7.00 pm. It will be given by experienced adventure racers. We are hoping to get as many people there as possible. We hope to use it as a night to promote AR in Ireland. People can also meet other people and form teams..... There will be more info about this shortly!!!!! We also hope to get some virgin racers there too so we can introduce them to the wonderful sport. It will be a socable evening, where people can come, chat and ask all the questions they want. All suggestions as to what people want to hear are welcome. Do people want video clips on AR? Do you need tips in navigating? How do get started with kayaking????? How much mountain biking is involved??? There will be experts on hand to give you all the advice you need. |

You can bring your own wine, we'll provide the cups!!!!! -Nothing "classy about AR! Bring your friends. More great news is that anyone connected with Shamrock AR will get 10 % reduction off anything in basecamp. So if you are doing the race, or if you know people racing or you know any of the committee there is an automatic discount for you!!!! Bargain!!!!! A big thankyou to basecamp, for their support!!!!!! It would be great to get as many people to this talk as possible. Any folk who have done multisport races and would like to try a real adventure race.... this talk is ideal for you folks.... Adventure racing is all about endurance, keeping going, They include fun bits... It's a team based sport... it's challenging.... Anyone can doing them.... you just need to learn the skills! It is a sport that is not boring! Try one and you'll be hooked! |

Where to start Rachel Cinnsealach will speak briefly about Shamrock AR the next AR in Ireland Shamrock AR is sponsored by Basecamp Some IMRA committee memebers will be there, as well as lots of other experienced IMRA adventure racers. |
| Robert Malseed | Feb 27 2012, 8:59pm | I am organising a Mountain Running / Endurance running workshop 7th and 8th April - covering topics Sports Psychology (Applied Sport Psychology), Ascending and Descending, Injury prevention, treatment and recovery, Equipment, shoes and clothing and on the 8th an Easter Egg run up the Reek (Croagh Patrick). This should interest adventure racers especially the Gaelforce and Sea2Summit competitors. |
