AuthorDateMessage
Brendan LawlorOct 26 2012, 8:55amBest of luck on Monday to anyone doing the marathon - Cormac O Ceallaigh and Gareth Little

Feel free to add more names (including your own if you are running)

Lots of hillrunners will be along the route to give you a cheer!
Justin O'KeeffeOct 26 2012, 11:09amLook out for Conor O'Meara & Stephen Waters too - good luck to all
Greg ByrneOct 26 2012, 12:37pmBarry Minnock, Brian Furey & Aidan Blighe could also do with some helpful cheering.
Ronan HickeyOct 26 2012, 3:21pmTim Chapman, James Clancy and John Langan will be on the PB trail too!

I aim to be manning a cheering station around the 22/23m mile mark (Nutley Lane/Merrion Road) so will give yiz shout outs. Apologies to those who's names I forget in the heat of the moment, they will in all likelihood like last year get a "Go on IMRA!" shout.

Donal TroddynOct 26 2012, 4:36pmI'll be running it too, although at the opposite end of the field to most of the aforementioned. If you see a fighter pilot on the course, give me a wave.
James HigginsOct 27 2012, 10:32pmI was at the Marathon Expo earlier today. People I was talking to who are running as well as myself are Martin Frances, Peter Herbert and Cormac O'Ceallaigh.

Also David Brady will be running and special mention for Seamus Kilcullen who is one of approx 20 runners who have finished all 32 Dublin marathons.

I am sure that there are loads more IMRA members running.
Pól Ó MurchúOct 28 2012, 10:41amMyself and Aoife (Mundow) also running. A bit like Donal and James I think I might be a bit behind the likes of Barry Minnock and Brian Furey! But keep an eye out for us all the same. Always great to see a few familiar faces around course.
Johan DehantschutterOct 28 2012, 11:14amI'll be running it too with Ronan Brandon and Odhran Hendley. I also saw Amidou's name listed in the marathon guide we got at the expo yesterday..
Des KennedyOct 28 2012, 2:18pmI'll be running my first marathon in Dublin tomorrow. Bumped into some of the above mentioned at the RDS yesterday as well as Ian O'Kane who is doing it too. Good luck to all taking part!
cormac o ceallaighOct 29 2012, 7:39pmBig thanks to all the IMRA runners for their support and encouragement today. It was my 10th time to do Dublin and the support and the carnival atmosphere was the best.
There was some excellent performances

And for those who are interested... Roebuck has been downgraded from a hill to a grade 2 slope. The relevant episode of Fr Ted might be referenced in a future post.
Aidan BligheOct 30 2012, 8:02amThanks for all the Imra support yesterday, it really does help keep you moving. I ended up meeting Gareth little and Barry Moore a few miles into it and it was nice to run with them for a bit. Greg and other pacers pulled me through in the half and luckily the 3 of us just kept ahead of them yesterday. Some other times

Barry Moore 3:09:12
John Moore 3:54:03
Brendan LawlorOct 30 2012, 8:04amWell done - great times there and great day for it
John LanganOct 30 2012, 1:37pmThe 3:45 pacers slipped away on me. The Air Corp's bloc run was a grand troop to nestle in behind for a few miles between Foster's Avenue and Merrion Road. Spotting the 4 hour pacers approaching from behind was the spur I needed and a quick high 5 from Ronan Hickey on Merrion Road and big ol shout of encouragement from him set me up for a 3h 56m finish.

Worthy of mention is Donal Troddyn's penchant for incredibly elaborate marathon attire;

Last year he set the world record for "fastest marathon dressed as a robot"

see; http://www.sportsfile.com/id/571114/

While this year he was dressed as a fighter pilot, complete with Aviators and his very own fighter jet. Hope this link works.

Sam ScrivenOct 31 2012, 9:30amIt sure was chilly out there, really tough on tiring muscles. Was glad of my fleece and woolly hat. And I was only watching!
Well done to everyone who took part!

To add to the list of fantastic results, I think I saw John Ahern and Warren Swords both chasing 3-hour times, and spotted Pol O'Murchu producing a strong finish too.
Pól Ó MurchúOct 31 2012, 10:26pmThanks Sam yes indeed I did run on Monday and finished with a time of 3:42:14 a new pb for me so very happy with my time. Thanks to all who were out there supporting on the day. Seen a few about and always good to see familiar faces (even when they don't always see you :-( )

Also Rob Costello Previous IMRA member ran 2:59:51 first time to break 3 hours.
Warren SwordsNov 1 2012, 11:48amCheers Sam.

I dipped under 3 hours at 2.59.17. Delighted with that. Perfect day for it. John Ahern also went sub 3.
Donal TroddynNov 1 2012, 11:53amJohn & Gavan, thanks for those photos - I hadn't seen them before. I didn't even notice Mick taking that one at the start. Hilariously, the Irish Times one ended up on Tom Cruise's website.

Great to to see those finish times, too, impressive performances from so many IMRA runners. Another great DCM all round, well organised and fantastic support from the city.
James ClancyNov 2 2012, 9:15amCongrats to all taking part and especially the IMRA runners, looked like perfect conditions and incredible atmosphere. Well done all.

Another to add to the list I notice is Aidan Blake in at 3hr34min.....from what I remember him telling me at the Run The Line event in September he was running about 5 marathons across Ireland in the 5 days leading up to the Dublin event for charity!!!
