South Ease Mountain Rescue "Long Way Round" 2018 is this coming Saturday the 24th of November from the Clonmel Central Technical institute.

This is mainly a walking event but the let the runners off a few minutes early last year. Its a 15km route with a mix of Road/Fire Road and Trails. Winner last two years was just under the hour. Last of the walkers were around 3' 30"

SEMRA family and friends put on a very lavish spread of food to replenish does burned calories!!!

Robbie WilliamsNov 20 2018, 4:24pmIt’s a brilliant event

A real feel good one!

And plenty sambos & cake!

We even got free mini bottles of baileys last year!!
Mícheál O'MullainNov 22 2018, 9:41pmHi Rob am doing this this year as close and handy to in laws in a Clonmel looking at route it seems very little that isn’t Road or fire road so am wondering is it a runners effort as opposed to trail runners?
John J BarryNov 22 2018, 10:23pmYes, normal shoes are fine. A very steep descent from the summit is the only point shoes are needed. just be careful for a couple hundred metres
Mícheál O'MullainNov 22 2018, 10:53pmCheers John........looked like it and I hate getting crippled using trail shoes on road!
Robbie WilliamsNov 23 2018, 4:33pmYa Michael

One point after 3km single track & then descent from cross for 600m slippy short grass, other than that grand
Mícheál O'MullainNov 25 2018, 5:13pmCheers lads good call runners were fine just had to refrain from charging down from Cross. Good outing
