The Wait

Alan AylingApr 11 2019, 12:08amProbably been mentioned plenty of times before, but can anything be done about the length of time it takes between hitting the button to post on the forum and the site actually accepting and showing the post? It's pretty annoying
a) when you're trying to post or reply
b) reading the forum and seeing anything from 2 to 6 replicates of someone's reply because they kept hitting the Reply button

Thank you frustratedly,
Alan
John MollohanApr 11 2019, 9:55amIts perfect for this though Alan -

Lillian DeeganApr 11 2019, 10:19amBut Alan, your repeat last night worked a treat - aside from the important msg being relayed - I had visions of someone teaching a granny how to suck eggs #Deadly and kinda similar to John here - as the song goes :)
Luke RaffertyApr 11 2019, 10:24amlols..... "it never happens on my device"
Andrew HanneyApr 11 2019, 10:50amSounds like another training session is needed to teach people how to cope with this... ;)

Stuart ScottApr 16 2019, 10:47amThere's seems to be an issue with the forum emails. I've noticed quite a few posts recently where the email hasn't been sent (and I've checked spam folders etc.). The most notable was this thread where the first one I got was John saying "Wait a minute" followed up by "Where's me jumper". I was quite disappointed when I clicked on the link and saw Alan's original message!

Has anyone else experienced this or is it just me? I'm not sure if it's the website emailer or something to do with gmail. If it's the former, then whether or not it be fixed is another matter I guess!
Pól Ó MurchúApr 16 2019, 1:08pmYes also noticed that with this thread but have noticed occasionally where I see the response but no original notification.
Jason KehoeApr 16 2019, 10:58pm@Alan - I was a victim yesterday but it's not only when you repeatedly hit the reply button which I know better than to do! I always wait for it to load and on a post yesterday a stack trace error occurred and then there were multiple posts of my message when I went back in to see it. I was morto!
Alan AylingApr 17 2019, 12:32pmWell we need this sorted. Because if not...
My dog will be so, so angry

Niamh O'CeallaighApr 17 2019, 3:28pmWould be nice to be able to edit / delete one's own posts.

I've just had to google "ones own or one's own" to ensure a grammatical boo boo wasn't immortalised. (I respect Sarah O'R's opinion of me)
Alan AylingApr 17 2019, 5:10pmShouldn't "boo boo" be hyphenated though?
