Ballyhoura Final Instructions PLEASE READ

Welcome to the 6th MMRA festival. We are praying for good weather as Kilfinane once again fills with runners this May bank holiday weekend for what we hope will be a great day out on the trails.
Below are the instructions for race day. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.
Sign In:
The following are details for each race sign in. The venue is Scoil Pol in Kilfinnane. As there are currently renovations at the school please take note of the signs directing you to the exact area. Also please be mindful of parking so as not to block any gates or inhibit traffic flow.
At the close of each event sign in will be the race briefing Eg: ultra sign in 5:15am – 6:15am /Briefing is 6:15am. ALL RUNNERS TO ATTEND THEIR RESPECTIVE BRIEFINGS. Here on sign in you will receive a food voucher. Please keep safe as you cannot get your dinner, dessert & beer without it. You will receive your race momento here also. Ultra & Marathon is race tee. Half & 10km is race souvenir mug.
On sign in you will sign the race sheet beside your name. Please take care to write your name and especially your mobile phone number clearly.
You will be given a race timing chip which the official will attach to your IMRA number so please have your number with you! There will be a small amount of blanks available. If, however you have not run an IMRA race this year and have not collected your number, please visit the number collection table FIRST with your email showing purchase of the number and please **know the number. The marshal will not have time to look you up on line on the morning and you will be asked to wait until the end of registration.

***PLEASE NOTE HALF MARATHONERS.....
Please be aware you will be transferred by bus to Ballyorgan. Each bus will take 50. You will be given a bus wave time which is the time the bus will depart (sharp)from outside the school. The buses will be full. Please be on the bus before the time of departure as they will leave on time. You will be given a ticket on sign in which denotes a bus time. The buses will be 9:30am, 9:45am, 10:00am. This will be on a first some first served basis at sign in where you will be given a ticket for a corresponding bus time. You can only collect your own ticket for bus. Please be aware that in case of inclement weather you may wish to take a refuse sack to keep warm in while waiting at the start and can be put in a bin at start. You may be at start anything from 15-30 min approx before race start. Also at race start please keep to side of pathway as marathon and ultra runners will be passing and we hope you will encourage the through. Weather forecast is currently dry but less than 10 degrees.

Mandatory Kit:
As per IMRA rules all runners MUST carry a jacket. Failure to have one will result in disqualification. In the marathon and ultra, all runners must carry a mobile phone and the ability to carry 500ml water. There is a number on the back of the IMRA genuine number bib that can be used to contact the Race Director. If not using an original , it is your responsibility to take note of the number.

Race Markings:
Race markings will be 2 main items: White pvc board with a red arrow. Red and white tape. IN CERTAIN AREAS THAT ARE OPEN WE MAY USE LUMINOUS YELLOW VIZI ON STICKS WHERE THERE ARE NO ATTACHMENT SITES (FIELDS). In some fields, especially coming into Glenroe by the GAA, the grass is long and can disguise what is fairly rough, rutted ground.

Course:
Due to certain Coillte works and fallen trees the course on the original gpx and details page may vary slightly from the course on the day. Please be sure to follow course as it is marked on the day.

Drop Bags:
Ultra runners can leave 2 small bags in designated spots :
Darragh Creamery approx 28km & Ballyorgan approx 40km
Marathon runners may leave 1 drop bag at Ballyorgan 21km approx
These bags should be brought to hall on sign in and placed in the marked areas.



Aid Stations:
Aid stations will include jellies, chocolate, water, bananas. There will be a bin at each station please be careful that all refuse goes in it.
Some stations will be manned and some will be unmanned. The Darragh Creamery and Ballyorgan will have marshals at them.
Ultra aids: 18km Kilfinnane, 28km Darragh Creamery, 39km Ballyorgan, 48km Mountain Bike park area.
Marathon Aids: 10km Darragh Creamery, 17km Darragh Hills Exit, 21km Ballyorgan, 30km Mountain bike park area.
Half Marathon Aids: 9km Mountain Bike park area.
10km Race. No aid stations. Please note that due to Coillte farming the route will be a little longer approx 11-11.5km.
NOTE: NO CUPS AT AID STATIONS. THIS IS TO REDUCE PLASTIC USED.

Cut Off Times:
Cut off for ultra: Kilfinnane at 9:10am & Ballyorgan at 12:10
Cut off for Marathon: Ballyorgan at 12

Finish:
After finishing you can shower in the Blackrock GAA club which is next to the School. Return to the school to the canteen upstairs for your hot food and please have your voucher to redeem. Eight degrees brewing have very kindly sponsored us some if their excellent brew and we will do our best to have a cold bottle waiting for you. Tea, coffee and biscuits are also available.

Prizes:
1st , 2nd and 3rd men &women in each race will be presented with a prize on finishing.
1st prize: Voucher for inov8 runners
2nd prize:Voucher running rain jacket
3rd prize: Voucher long sleeve running top
