Andrew Moore | Apr 28 2025, 7:16pm | Thanks Warren. I wasn't sure about this "General rule is that entries for Wednesday races open at 9am Monday" |
Alasdair Brown | May 17 2025, 4:21pm | Hi all, do you need volunteers for this event? If so count me in. |
Andreas Kusch | May 18 2025, 12:14am | Hi Alasdair, Yes, I can take a few more. You can log in and volunteer your service on the event page. Thanks |
Andreas Kusch | May 25 2025, 8:34pm | Howth Summer 2025. The trails are ready, are you? Entries open in the morning and we have no entry limit for this one! A lovely, but tough, scenic and in parts challenging route is waiting for you. Registration at the Summit Inn closes at 19.15. We have an early start at 19.00 and a junior/short course starting at 19.35. Please carpool as much as possible. |
Jean O'Neill | May 26 2025, 9:45am | Andreas I want to UNvolunteer please. Thank you. |
Andreas Kusch | May 27 2025, 7:57pm | We are approaching 200 runners. Online entry will close at midday tomorrow. Don't forget your number, jacket and trail runners. Bring your shorts! Actually, if you don't like gorse, nettles and brambles....., well, who doesn't. |
Andreas Kusch | May 27 2025, 7:59pm | Volunteer email has gone out. |
Yan Pan | May 28 2025, 6:14pm | Hi Andreas, I am waiting for Dart to Howth. All trains to Howth or Malahide seem delayed. I will try to make the sign in window but would like to give you a heads up. Thanks, Yan |
Mick Hanney | May 29 2025, 7:35am | Strava flyby is interesting with some variation of routes around the cliffs of Howth near the harbour end. Almost lost count of the no. of times we went up and around it.. |
Jeff Swords | May 29 2025, 8:33am | I'm aware there's a few people missing from the results (I can work out where Andy H and Tommy G may have come in from Strava). Anyone else drop a mail to IMRAResults at Gmail dot com with your finish time if you have it or with who you came in in front/behind of if you know). |
Jack McNaughton | May 29 2025, 9:02am | Hi, I was marked DNF on the results sheet and I'm not sure why. My race number was: 1679 and my finishing time was 55:02 (according to strava). Is there any further information about why I was DNF'ed? There were a few wrong turns but people both ahead and behind me were not marked as such and I backtracked after I went wrong. Thanks |
Mick Hanney | May 29 2025, 10:16am | Fair play to the laptop guys for getting any results up quickly in the circumstances. There are bound to be some result discrepancies to be ironed out. |
Andrew Moore | May 29 2025, 10:30am | I think there are going to be a good few non-competitive finishers :) All in all, I still had a great time out there! Howth is alot of fun, but forget how single tracky it can be :) |
Conor O'Farrell | May 29 2025, 11:30pm | One of the reasons for a DNF(aside from the obvious ) is if your course was not recorded at the start of the race. Due to a number of competing at Howth yesterday 1 or 2 people may not have had their course recorded on the sign-in sheets. If this is the case, please email Jeff at results@imra.ie. Con |
Andreas Kusch | May 30 2025, 10:20pm | A big thank you to all volunteers and runners. We had a few issues with registration, but everyone was very understanding and relaxed. My thanks thanks to Jody and Phil for designing and marking a great alternative route for Howth. Can you imagine my face when- out for a little run before the race- I encountered a person removing flags and tape from the course. A special thank you our laptop team of Rebecca, Anne and Conor who really put in a shift to get our results kind of sorted. Thanks also to Jeff who will do the rest. No sure who created the Benny Hill flyby clip, well done! Looking forward to Dan's race video now. |
Clare Sullivan | May 30 2025, 10:58pm | Well done on a great race, possibly not unique for Howth to have at least four distances on offer. Short, long but not so long, long and long with extras. Personally I would have preferred to do the long but not so long course ... I would have been happy to skip that loop around km 5 which was particularly difficult... but I ended up on the long with extras course.... if value was based on kms then at least I got better value for money... and there isn't a better investment of €7 than a Wednesday night IMRA... |
Diane McConnell | May 30 2025, 11:16pm | Based on Clare’s assessment, I think I did the long but not too long course. Unless you count the traffic on the sandymount strand on the way there. Thank you Andreas and all the team for the organising, the weather, the views and the post race food and of course much anticipated raffle. |
Diane McConnell | Yesterday, 1:55pm | Correction on my previous post. Having now seen the strava flyby (which I’ve now watched 12 times and may watch again.. it’s so addictive) I can confirm that I did the “long” (9.7km) distance). |
