Injury

AuthorDateMessage
Martin BradshawJul 27 2012, 1:02pmI am looking for some good sound advice on an injury I have had for close to 3 years now,
The injury is to do with my calves and where I am unable to run once the symptoms develop. I get a piercing pain on the outside of my calf muscle when jogging/running after 5 minutes or so. I am forced to stop because of this as it can be extremely painful and also the calf tends to swell when this occurs.

I have said this injury has been ongoing for the last 3 years and I have gone to many specialist and received various different types of treatment, but all have not provided me with a lasting solution. I am asking if there is any one in the mountain running futurity who may have suffered from something similar and has received effective treatment or someone who may know of other people who suffer(ed) from something similar.

As I’m sure you can understand me when I say I am extremely frustrated not being able to run and compete,
All advice is extremely welcome

Thanks
Martin Bradshaw
Rene BorgJul 27 2012, 1:22pmHi Martin, I work with injury free running and think I have an inkling of what this is, but I need more details and possibly to setup a chat between yourself and our technical director on the topic to talk more. Drop me a line at rene at championseverywhere dot com if you want to discuss it further in private.

Hopefully we can get to the bottom of it, 3 years without running is much too long but it also gives me a pretty big clue about what this is really about. You can phone me on zero85one21four541 as well if you prefer, I'm usually available between 8-10 and after 18 (this evening only after 19).
Brian O'MurchuJul 27 2012, 4:17pmHi Martin,

From the sounds of it I had something similar when I was 16, I got so frustrated that I quit running for about 10 years. The good news is it can be resolved fully, I think Rene has put out a very good invitation
