Stuart ScottJun 13 2013, 12:28pmHi all,

Just wondering if anyone is planning on heading to the Flagstaff race this Sat? It's about 18k along the Cooley Ridge with great views over the lough and some navigation thrown in for free. Details at:

with a (very-old-and-possibly-out-of-date) map at:

I've never done it before but I've heard great reviews. It's on early too which will allow plenty of recovery time before Avonbeg!

Stuart ScottJun 16 2013, 10:55pmHi all,

4 of us headed up to this race yesterday and I must say, I couldn't recommend it more highly. The terrain was very varied but mainly runnable overall and not a road in sight - couldn't ask for more! Route choices were almost infinite which saw plenty plenty of tactical negotiations early on and then some fairly epic battles culminating in the 10 min / 500m descent off Slieve Foye. Superb organisation and marshalling by NIMRA, rounded off with coffee, showers and sangwiches which were laid on after and all for e10. Definitely one to watch out for next year!

Stuart ScottJun 4 2014, 10:35amHi all,

Advance warning this year - the Carlingford to Flagstaff race looks like it's taking place on Sun 22nd June. It's the day after our own Carlingford race so it'd be ideal for making a weekend out of. A group of us did it last year and it's one of the best races I've ever done.
