Races under the FRA cover everything from 3 miles "sprints" on defined routes thought to the lake land classics. So it is not all trashing across remote mountain tops. It is very true that these well marked "traily" mountain races would not be to the liking to the majority of FRA members. During the running season and living near Manchester I probably have 4 or 5 races a week within 20 miles of me. That is the bigh difference between IMRA and the FRA,just the size of the running population. Members of my own club Pennine Fell Runners would be responsible for running a number of the local Pennine races. |
