| Greg Byrne | Jan 18 2018, 8:35pm | The IAU/ITRA Trail World Championships (TWC) are to be held at Castellon, Spain on 12th May 2018. The race will be run over approximately 80km. The Glendalough Clover Solo (80km) race, scheduled for Saturday 24th February 2018 will be the trial race and will form a part of the selection process used to determine suitable athletes and/or teams that will represent Ireland at the WTC. It is probably not a major issue until after the race, but if you have any pressing questions please contact the section committee directly with your enquiry (selection@ima.ie) In the past there was a thought that being a member of IMRA was sufficient, but this was clarified last year and AAI membership is required for IAAF recognised events. In this case the IAU (http://www.iau-ultramarathon.org) operates under the patronage of the IAAF. The AAI competition guidelines are online: https://goo.gl/KqYo4L but I am not sure how these apply to international competition. Again, probably best to contact the committee directly and if necessary ask for a contact in AAI. If you would like to get in contact with a local club in your area, we can probably help direct you towards some friendly faces. |

| Gary Warnock | Feb 1 2018, 1:55pm | Thanks for the responses Signed up to IMRA, and gave athletics NI a call - they were able to get me registered as unattached over the phone. Hopefully that's me all set - now I just have to run faster than I've run before! |
