Cian Coghlan | Nov 19 2019, 7:01am | Hi looking for advice... I want to run Lug for the first time this w/end Is it easy to navigate to the top without knowing the route/trails ? What distance is it up and back? Is there multiple start points or just one Carpark ? Thanks in advance |
Stuart Scott | Nov 19 2019, 9:50am | Hi Cian, Take a look at the race page for distance and maps etc. You would need a map and compass. The route up is fairly straightforward but it's very easy to go wrong on the way back down. Plenty of IMRA runners can attest to that! There are steep cliffs and an army firing range to avoid and some of the valleys have poor phone coverage. I would recommend you walk it first with a map, compass and plenty of gear and then run it in the summer. Plus, it's currently covered with a layer of snow and ice! Stuart |
