Eoin McDonnellJan 2 2024, 8:51pmHi. Can I ask what the cut off time is on this? Thanks!
Michael McCormack80Jan 3 2024, 6:25pmHi, also wondering about the marathon route option for 2024 as really enjoyed it last year, thanks
Niamh KellyJan 3 2024, 10:14pmEoin the cut-off time will likely be the same as 2023 = Cut-off point in Glenkeen is 5:30 pm

I will check if the Marathon is going ahead
Thanks Niamh

Kevin BroughtonMar 24 2024, 1:11pmEoin you can get the GPX file here https://www.plotaroute.com/mobile/route/2189666
Assuming no changes from last years route of course
Yes only the one late cut-off, again assuming no change from last year
Eoin PhelanMar 24 2024, 2:21pmThanks Kevin
Craig ZambraMar 29 2024, 1:14pmHi, Is there any entry criteria required for this race, like last year?
Thanks.
Liam VinesMar 29 2024, 2:44pmHi Craig
There is no need to send the pre entry email this year. We would ask that people have a good read of the race page in regard to route description and kit requirements. Everyone has to be sure they know what they are signing up for.

ivan fieldMar 29 2024, 3:05pmIs there any update as far as having the Marathon option again this year?
Liam VinesMar 29 2024, 3:28pmHi Ivan
No update. But lots discussion and work going on to try get the right option for the overall Event.
Bernard HealyApr 9 2024, 10:21amHi just wondering would Hoka Speedgoats be OK here for the ultra or would i need to invest in some Inov8 mudclaws
Sean ForsythApr 9 2024, 11:53amHi Bernard,

I wore a pair of Saucony exodus last year and they were absolutely fine. There wasn't a massive amount of mud on course and the few bits there were didn't need deep lugs. I'd say the hokas would be fine
Bernard HealyApr 9 2024, 6:28pmThanks Sean, il pick up the Sauconys online. They're on sale on sportsshoes.com if anyone is looking for a pair. Just aim off for 2 weeks for delivery.
Owen HarneyApr 9 2024, 7:03pmHi Bernard,

I ran 52km of the Slieve Bloom Way last summer (not as part of the event) in Hoka Torrents and they were perfect for it, so I doubt you'd have any bother in the Speedgoats.
Matthew TyeMay 3 2024, 4:04pmCan any IMRA member enter this event?
Brian EastwoodMay 4 2024, 9:57pmEntries are usually open a few weeks in advance once IMRA have obtained the race permits.
As far as I know the only criteria you need is the be a senior member and have enough fitness or stubbornness to give it a reasonable g.

Andrew CoghlanMay 7 2024, 1:34pmCan anybody recommend camping nearby?
Martin CullenMay 10 2024, 10:28pmHi.
Have just been checking and this race seems to have gone of the calender.
Any updates on why?
Andy KeelingMay 10 2024, 10:46pmIt's been cancelled. Permits could not be issued due to nesting endangered hen harriers very near to the trail (see forum post entitled "Birds of a feather").Tucker trail will now take its place in the Ultra champs.
Martin CullenMay 11 2024, 7:35amThat's a pity. But the right call.
Thanks
