| Joe Lalor | Sep 10 2024, 5:12pm | The venue for NC3, 13th October will be the upper lake car park Glendalough. Please note there is a €5 parking fee. To avoid this you could park for free at new car park near Derrybawn House and jog up the green road or park there and car pool up and share the cost. |
| Joe Lalor | Sep 30 2024, 11:40pm | Ready to go again? Long course involves open mountain and tough climbs. Short course confined to forest and should not pose any problems. Event map East/West Glendalough Lugnaquilla 25k seriess. Note there are several significant changes to newer edition, some of which are relevant to course. If using older edition (2018) edition see map corrections before race. There are also a number of uncrossable deer fences that are not on map which effect route choice, again see map corrections board. |

| Joe Lalor | Oct 6 2024, 6:40pm | Area covered by course 070980 120940 In deciding which course to do consider the following. Some might consider the short course not too challenging (~7.5km). I am constrained by uncrossable fences and desire to stay off very steep ground. The long course (~15km) will be physically demanding but nav should be (weather permitting) fairly straightforward. It has 8 controls, 4 on each side of Glendalough Valley, with a mandatory crossing of the Gleneola River by the footbridge. Anyone trying the LC (clockwise or anticlockwise) who has had enough or run out of time (course closes 3pm) can come down the Miner's Track for SC credit. | Paul Smyth | Oct 7 2024, 12:51am | Hi Joe, Is there a newer version of the map than 2018? The EW website says the map was published in Apr. 2018? You seem to be indicating that the 2018 map is an older edition. Just looking to clarify. |

Taped jacket mandatory (will be checked), there were heavy showers and hail there today. I see we have a few entries for new IMRA members, so just a reminder that for this event only nav aid is map and compass (no GPS or phone maps). Could all please read previous post as this is obvious not been done See you tomorrow, bring a cup. |

My first year doing the nav league, lots learnt and I've really enjoyed every one of the days out. It's a huge effort from the RDs to put these together and it's really appreciated. A special thanks to Nora for the exceptional spread when we finished, really delicious. Looking forward to next year already. |

John Bell 7.23 Paul Mahon 8.38 Mike Jordan 8.42 Therefore John is yet again Navigator of the Year Remarkable these were the only runners to finish the series. Several others did three races but were recorded in short course in NC2. Special mention should be made of Stuart Scott and Liam Vines who would most likely have finished the series had they not given up their race to act as RD. This series is the only one in the calendar which is gender neutral and as yet there is no award of navigator of the year in the short course. For the record the top three scorers were.
