Updated Competition Rules
Thursday August 22 - Alan Ayling
The IMRA Competition Rules have been updated to reflect current practices and our rules for racing as agreed by the Executive Committee.Key changes:
1. Headphones (and equivalent devices) - not permitted while competing in an IMRA event.
2. Trekking poles - only allowed in long races, > 50 km.
Both of the above have been introduced on safety grounds, based on problems arising, best practice in other mountain running organisations, and considerable debate by the committee.
The Competition Rules also set out things like points scoring for leagues, how league positions are decided in the event of a tie, what distances various junior age categories can run, eligibility for prizes in the various age categories and competitions, rules around early starts, etc.
The rules can be found by clicking the Constitution button in the lower part of the screen on the IMRA site.
