Conor MurphyJul 26 2013, 3:24pmPresume there is no requirement to hit any marker or point in particular, save maybe the cairn at the top of the cliff behind the Devil's Punchbowl and which can't really be missed on the circuit around it? The map suggests we don't go near the summit itself.
Vivian O'GormanJul 26 2013, 4:28pmHi Colin, yes you're right. When you get to the lake go clockwise around it. After you have gone up the steep climb at the east end of the lake follow the path around the top of the crag above the lake. The decent is towards the stream coming off the lake and follow the path back down to the start/finish.
Conor MurphyJul 26 2013, 6:12pmThanks. Yeah figured proper summit might be risking it alright, kinda featureless up there once you move away from the edge of the Punchbowl, in mist you'd have runners heading every which way,
Conor MurphyJul 28 2013, 6:14pmEnjoyed that outing, after blowing up in the oven that was Lug last week. Thanks to Vivian and Tom, as ever. The sandwiches and coffee at the end were great too.
