Vivian O'GormanMay 22 2009, 1:35pmThe June Bank Holiday has come round again except this year its 31st May!!This will be our 22nd race on Irelands highest mountain -- the first race being 1987?

To get there head for Glencar from either Killarney or Killorglin and where these two roads join it will be signposted. If you are coming from another direction and end up in Glencar head for Killarney going past Lake Acoose and you will find us.

Race registration will close at 11.45am -- don't forget the race starts at 12pm.The course will NOT be marked. The start of the race is about 1kilometer or so from registration.

There is NO parking at the race start.

You MUST bring with you the appropriate clothing particularly a rain jacket and a bum bag - you show these at registration. If the weather is bad you will be required to wear them.

If you have a pair of running shoes with studs use them. Also don't forget your own water.

Entry fee for this race is 10 Euro.

Please do not run this race as your first mountain race of the year and especially if you have NEVER RUN A MOUNTAIN RACE BEFORE! -- NO ARGUMENTS.

Prizegiving will be in the Climbers Inn,Glencar.

Sarah HealMay 24 2009, 8:22pmHi,

This is a long shot but is anyone driving down on the day from Galway? I'm staying in Galway Saturday evening and would love to run on Sunday (leaving Ireland the next week and I've always missed this race), but realise it's probably impossible without my own transport.

But just in case my email is - healse at tcd dot ie. I'd bring cake!

If not hope everyone has fun up there, I'll be jealous.

Thanks
Sarah
