U18s international Cup

The enthusiasm at the start line can take over from a well planned race.Pre race tactics can be overtaken when the argy bargy starts at the start line and the gun goes the athletes shoot out some keep the pace going others sit back in the pack.
This is what happened our athletes at the U18s international Cup this year in Susa Italy on Saturday 24th August. On the looped coarse the leaders after lap one dropped back
Of the home countries It was Waleses day winning silver in the boys and 4th place for their girls
The Italian girls had a clean sweep 1st 2nd 3rd as did the French boys first time in WMRAs history.
Again Aoife Coffey was our best placed athlete finishing in 17th position two places better than last year.The second lap caught our lads out even though our trial race was over three laps in Glendalough
