A dull evening and the distraction of the Ireland Vs Netherlands friendly (the Dutch beat us 4-0 which wasn't that friendly...) ensured that, as per usual, the Butter Mountain race carried on its tradition of being the least supported of the three trail league races. At least, 88 souls turned up to while away the evening without having to bury their head in their hands watching the Irish match.

Fastest of those souls was Padraig MacCriostail who once again dismissed all pretenders and took his third Trail League race on the trot. Eoin Keith, John Farrelly, and Mick Coyle thundered in behind him while last year's winner Kevin Keane finished fifth on his return from injury.

A close race in the women's section saw a tight 3 second win for Karen Doyle from newcomer Ruth Murphy who had Moire O'Sullivan just behind her. Zoe Melling who had marked the new race route beforehand with John Farrelly - the M40 winner - still whipped around to finish fourth less than a minute behind.

Vivian O'Gorman won the M50s while Fidelma Ayres took the F40s with Ger Power and Caitlin Bent took the F50 and F60 wins. Seamus Kilcullen was fastest M60.

Once again, thanks to everybody who helped out and made the series of races enjoyable for everyone!!
