All runners must bring the above items to the race. The actual kit to be carried during the race will be finalised on the day, depending on conditions etc., and clearly advised at Registration.

You should also have the means to carry all the kit in case required.

Failure to have the required items may lead to you being denied entry to the race, or disqualification. Random checks may be carried out.

Route Description:
The route for the West League 2024 will follow the Way Marked path, starting from the car park to the summit and back down the same way to the finish at the car park. It will be an out and back course that will be fully marked. There are sections of loose stones on the ascent and descent where caution should be exercised. Getting There:
Start: North plantation 2km south of Lahardaun, between Crossmolina & Pontoon, Co. Mayo. G.R. G 109103

Leaving Lahardaun towards Crossmolina take first left just as leaving the village and drive down a very narrow road until you see other cars. It should be signposted at the left turn.

Putting "Nephin Car Park" into Google Maps should get you there too.

Organisers Instructions:
There will be a short course option of 5km which will follow the same route up and down Nephin as the long course but turning at the base of the mountain. This route option will include some open mountain running and will be fully way marked.

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
