Route Description:
Mám Éan Route Description Mám Éan offers a route with stunning views, as shown in the photos above. You can view the full course map here: Route Link. https://www.plotaroute.com/route/2704447?units=km The course is primarily an “out-and-back” with some variation in the middle section: Start to 1.5km: Runners follow the main rocky path. 1.5km – Chapel Section: The route turns onto a smaller path up the hillside towards the chapel, staying left at the second cross. Down the Hill: From the chapel, signage will direct runners across the hill and back towards the main path and Gate 2. To the Turnaround (4.2km): The main path continues with a mix of rocky ground and grassy light trail, mostly downhill, until the turnaround point at Gate 5 (approx. 4.2km). Return Section: Runners retrace the main path for about 2km before diverting onto a grassy side trail below the chapel. This rejoins the main path for the final 1.3km. Final Stretch: The last section is all downhill to the finish, with sweeping views of the 12 Bens in the distance.

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
