Junior Route is an Out and Back 4.5km
Early Start:
There will be an early start this year. 7pm
Organisers Instructions:
Registration will be open from 6.00pm - 7.15pm. Start will be from the the main trail just outside the car park. There is currently a short diversion due to restoration work.

'LONG COURSE: Start @ 7:30pm This route will have everything, from nice grassy banks to very technical trails, and everytrhing in between. Starting just outside the Sugarloaf carpark with a gradual climb to the base of the summit. At the base of the cone runners will be directed right and will start an anti-clockwise loop dropping down towards the eastern side of the mountain. The climb will start as runners are directed up and around, behind the GAA pitch on single track, eventually leading around to the motorcycle bumps. Once that little 'tester' climb is out of the way it is time to rejoin the waymarked trail around the western side. And now the bit you all have been waiting for... just before returning to the main trail, runners will be directed left and up - to the summit. To make it nice and easy, you will be running up the new steps. (so keep a little to your right) you will be descending the side facing Bray/Dublin, then keeping left back towards the way you came up. Back down the technical cone to the marshal, all ready for your sprint finish to the carpark.

Due to the length and climb of this year\'s route, there will be an early start (7pm) for those who would regularly avail of this option.

SHORT COURSE: Start @ 7:35pm This is an out and back, but fear not, you will also get the grassy and technical bits, while hopefully avoining the bog. The start is a steady climb to marshal #1 who will direct you LEFT. descending on the western side of the mountain and around towards the junction at the motorcycle bumps. Here you will turn and follow the same route back. You will not have to go to the summit. 4.5km with 180m

1km SUGARLOAF CHALLENGE: Start @ 7.40pm This is a fun run for anyone who would like to walk or race up and down the grassy slope of Sugarloaf. All are welcome, and entry is free. Registration will be in the field before the race (not online). Results will be listed on the forum in the days after the race, not in the results section of the race page.

*Note that as membership and race entry are not required, participation is therefore not covered by IMRA insurance, and participants are responsible for their own safety. *Children must be supervised by their parent or guardian at all times.
Prizegiving Location:
We will have some sandwiches at the finish. AND a raffle with some nice prizes kindly donated by a few local businesses.

Volunteers (Non-Running)

You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize

Current Volunteers

Please login to myIMRA to volunteer to help at this event. You should aim to volunteer at least once for every 10 events that you run.

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
