Junior Race: Distance: approx 4km. The Junior uses the first section of the adult route, going downhill for the first 1.2km, before turning right and climbing steadily on forest road to the high point (Silvermines Mountains East Top). Then it's a fast 1k to the finish.

From Limerick, take the M7 towards Dublin, exiting at Junction 27 (Ballina/Killaloe/Birdhill). Then take the third exit at the Birdhill roundabout onto R445. After 6k, turn right onto R499 following signs for Silvermines for 8k.

Volunteers (Non-Running)

You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
