Route map for IMRA - WSL - Ticknock 2019 by Conor O'Farrell on plotaroute.com

NEW ROUTE for 2019 - starting at Ticknock car park. Start in ticknock carpark in southerly direction towards the bottom of the bone shaker. Keep contouring until just past the lower mast. turn right and follow the narrow trail uphill. this trail meets the large fireroad at Three Rock. from the top of Three Rock, follow the "tourist trail" towards Fairycastle. about halfway up at the dublin mountains way marker, turn left to contour around Fairycastle. this will bring you to two rock (pretty much). follow this trail as it descends towards Glencullen. at the forest edge, take a sharp left turn towards the forest and the first right turn into the forest (an unofficial walking track/mountain bike trail - it is quite obvious to follow). follow this through the trees to the fireroad. follow fireroad until barrier. go past barrier. After about a 100 m turn right and follow the edge of the forest down the hill. you cross another trail about halfway down but just keep going straight. at the bottom, turn left towards the fireroad. follow fireroad downhill and around until you meet the trail you were on at the start. Return to Ticknock car park for finish.

However it will be is a tough race on rough often rocky ground. Wearing of fell running shoes or similar with a good grip is highly recommended. Watch out for patches of ice!

If you arrive at a junction and there is no tape you have missed a turn and should go back to the previous junction. Ticknock is a public place, be aware of other users

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
