Route Description:

Route map for Clonmel Trail Half by Deirdre O Gorman on plotaroute.com

The route starts and finishes in the town; 3km of road will lead you into the first wood. MTB trails and some fire road will lead you passed Carey's Castle before a long climb up through Russeltown Wood. You will be rewarded at the top by views of the Comeraghs, Knockmealdowns and Galtees (weather permitting!) From here, you will head out onto open mountain and a fun descent before crossing a stream (or two!) and steadily climbing again before crossing the hills directly above the town; giving more stunning views of Clonmel and Sliabh na mBan. Passing the Holy Year Cross, it's all downhill to the finish. This is a challenging course with lots of climbing and some technical terrain; appropriate footwear is strongly recommended.
Getting There:
Race registration will be at Hillview Sports Club in Clonmel, E91 HC52.

Prizegiving Location:

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
