Route Description:
This year the MMU will be the qualifiers for the European Athletics Off-road running Championships, Annecy, France in May 31- 02 June 2024.
The will start from the Pier Gates Car Park.

This year the route will be 51KM and 2500M + . It will be the same route as last year except we will be adding Maulin going out and on the way back. (So thats Maulin and Djouce going out and coming back) Starting from the Car Park across from the Pier Gates heading along the Wicklow way, you will be diverted off the wicklow way to Ballinastoe and continue to the gate, where you will meet and be turned by a Marshall.

From there you will head back up the climb the way you came until you meet another marshall who will direct you back on to the wicklow way. Following the Boardwalks, you will continue until you meet another Marshall who will direct you up over Djouce - From there you will descend Djouce and again join the Wicklow way and head in the direction of Maulin and then to Crone woods(17km) where you will hit the first Water & Aid Station.

From there you will continue along the wicklow way via curtlestown until you hit Glencullen river - Glencullen Bridge on Boranaraltry lane(27km).

You will then head back along the same route in to Crone and then back up to Maulin and again via Djouce a second time. Wuhu!! This will increase the height to 2,500+ Meters and have some terrain similar to the route of the World Championships Marathon race. You will not go to Ballinastoe on the return leg.

You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
